Abstract af The Pulse på godt og ondt og Indfangning og fastholdelse af netbrugere
The general idea about www.thepulse2007.org was to generate debate and interaction on the site in relation to the published articles generated by the topics of the conference.
The biggest problem with the site was the usability. Many of the functions did not work as they should and it was very difficult to find any kind of system at the site. That might have been the reason that many of our “customers” did not stay as long as they perhaps would have. The creator of the web site www.internetministeriet.dk, Thomas Ørgaard Bredgaard thinks that it seems like the site has been build with a blogging tool instead of a Content Management System (CMS), and that it results in a site, which is difficult to manoeuvre in.
Another problem is the language. It is obvious that English is the second language of all the writers. That results in that misspelled words and makes it harder for the users to keep interested, since English is also a second language to many of them.
However, one of the things that the experts really like is the fact that there are possibilities to interact with the writers.
They think that interaction is a very important thing on the internet all ready and will be even more so in the future. Finally, it seems that there has not been much consideration about who the customers are. There are not any obvious logic in the way the site is built. With 2609 visitors leaving the site within 10 seconds one can claim, that some things are not as they should be
